Igniting Innovation Through Collaborative Partnerships

Written by Admin | July 2024

At LeapThought, we believe that collaboration is the catalyst for innovation. Recently, our team in Asia hosted a series of knowledge exchange sessions, forging connections between academia, industry leaders, and innovative technologies.

Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to:

🔹 Welcoming Hongtao Dang from Washington State University: We were honored to host Hongtao Dang, Assistant Professor in Construction Management from Washington State University. Hongtao, a key collaborator with LeapThought USA, engaged in rich discussions with our team about integrating advanced technologies into future AEC curricula.

Together, we explored opportunities to leverage our FulcrumHQ platform for hands-on learning, giving students access to cutting-edge tools that bridge the gap between theory and practice. Additionally, Hongtao shared his pioneering research on using drones to enhance construction safety, highlighting how emerging technologies can reshape site operations.

🔹 Insights from Soowon Chang of Purdue University: Our collaboration continued with Assistant Professor Soowon Chang from Purdue University’s School of Construction Management Technology. During his visit, we facilitated live project site visits, sparking insightful conversations about digital adoption in the AEC industry. Soowon’s in-depth understanding of construction technologies provided valuable perspectives on how digital tools can accelerate project delivery, while transforming traditional workflows.

🔹 Meeting with KICT and KSCE: We had the privilege of engaging with delegates from the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT) and the Korean Society of Civil Engineers (KSCE). These sessions, organized by Professor Justin Yeoh from the National University of Singapore, showcased our automated model checker—the first of its kind in Singapore’s built environment. With a focus on automating building code compliance, the discussions provided a platform to explore new frontiers in regulatory processes and construction automation, further cementing our role as a leader in digital transformation.

🔹 Supporting Future Engineers at SIT: We were thrilled to participate in the Singapore Institute of Technology’s (SIT) Job Hunt Fair, welcoming graduating civil engineering students. LeapThought is committed to nurturing the next generation of engineering talent by providing mentoring, internships, and direct hiring opportunities. Supporting these future professionals alongside leading engineering firms aligns with our dedication to fostering growth within the AEC industry.

At LeapThought, our global academic engagement program is just one part of our larger mission. From student mentorships to innovative research partnerships, we are committed to driving academic excellence while equipping future AEC professionals with the tools they need to spark the next wave of industry innovation.
